Suncare Community Services welcomes customers and the local community to participate in daily events and activities. At Suncare we focus on developing personalised home care solutions to improve wellbeing and social connectivity within the community.
Maroochydore Community Centre
For customers living on the Sunshine Coast, our Maroochydore Community Centre offers a multitude of activities including walking groups, art groups, morning teas, luncheons and cinema outings. With our own Suncare vehicles, we take our customers to many of the Sunshine Coast’s natural beauty attractions, iconic venues and other destinations.
“The centre is a hub for people who enjoy getting out of the house, trying new things and interacting with others.”
About the Centre
This year Suncare is celebrating their 50th anniversary, Suncare’s first service began as Meals on Wheels then through extensive fundraising, the Maroochydore Community Centre was established at the same location on George Street, Maroochydore. Since 1987 the centre has provided much-needed relief, support care and meals for Sunshine Coast customers.
The centre began with three staff, assisted by volunteers, one bus and nineteen customers. We have grown to have a fleet of vehicles and a growing team of staff and volunteers who provide a variety of monthly activities. The activities are designed to develop, maintain and support social interaction and independent living.
We offer a variety of recreational activities daily so you can continue socialising and building friendships in the community.
Our team encourage you to remain connected with the community and we can assist you with transport to and from the centre if need be.
Our Maroochydore Community Centre activities include:
- RSL shows and events
- Walking and active groups
- Coffee Club
- Arts and Crafts Workshops
- Cinema visits
