The Maroochydore Day Respite Centre welcomes customers and the local community for events and activities and provides a central meeting place for social outings. Each week the centre offers a multitude of events including walking groups (Link to walking group), art groups,(Link to ArticulationZ page) coffee mornings, luncheons and movie visits. With our own Suncare buses, we take people to visit many of the Sunshine Coast’s natural beauty spots and attractions.
“The Centre is a hub for people who enjoy getting out of the house, trying new things and interacting with others.“
About the Centre
Since 1987 the centre has provided much needed respite, support care and meals for Sunshine Coast customers. The centre began with three staff, assisted by volunteers, one bus and nineteen customers. We now have two buses, a dozen staff members and many dedicated volunteers who provide a variety of monthly activities designed to develop, maintain and support social interaction and independent living. The Centre has also been the home of Maroochydore Meals on Wheels (Link to MoW page) for more than 45 years. Today, hundreds of meals are prepared, cooked and delivered to customers in the Sunshine Coast region each day.
