CEO Russell Mason and Chairman of the Board Mario Pennisi

As a recipient on the 2020 Queen’s Birthday Celebrations Honours list announced on Monday 8 June 2020, Mr Pennisi has been recognised within the Australian Honours system for his significant service to the biomedical sector, to commercialisation initiatives and to research.

Mr Pennisi said he has been privileged to work with so many outstanding people throughout his career, and is honoured, humbled and excited to be recognised.

“It’s surreal”, he said.

“Whatever I have achieved it has been because of the guidance and encouragement I have received from mentors and leaders with whom I have collaborated throughout my career, and the support of my family and colleagues. There has never been a more important time for the role of science in society to be given visibility, and I am honoured that I have been able to play a small part in elevating the recognition of that critical role.”

Suncare CEO, Russell Mason echoes the wonderful contribution Mr Pennisi brings to Suncare from a career spanning nearly 40 years.

“Mario has brought a wealth of experience to Suncare and we have benefited from his guidance and drive.  Congratulations on well-deserved recognition!”

Mr Pennisi is also the Managing Director of Biostate Pty Ltd and also a Non-Executive Director and strategic advisor with a number of entities.
