Robyn’s Story

Disability Action Week

Suncare customer Robyn Eberle knows the importance of ‘choice’ when it comes to NDIS support.

When Robyn lost full movement of her leg following an accident, it became evident that it wasn’t just a physical disability she was struggling with – her mental health was beginning to suffer as well.

First Peoples Cultural Lead, Christina Fletcher, investigated options that identified the best ways to support Robyn. This included helping her to integrate back into her community by connecting her with indigenous workers, support programs and activities that enabled Robyn to feel safe.

“We sourced art therapy and Robyn even received a new prosthetic leg with Murri colours, which helped connect her to her community,” said Christina.

Robyn was also invited to the Nandjimadji Art Group which she continues to visit.

“I feel excited to connect to my community, culture, aunties, Sista Girls and mob,” said Robyn.

The support coordination offered to Robyn is a great example of how we are working hard to provide our customers opportunities and choices for living fuller lives.
