It was a full house for the Maroochydore Day Respite Centre’s (MDRC) Christmas lunch last week. The lunch provided a great opportunity for everyone to catch up with all the friends they had made throughout the year, recalling their favourite outings and activities.
Everyone enjoyed the outings to Bankfoot House, the Apollonian Hotel, and Mooloolaba canal cruise. In the centre, the Tea Dance was a favourite, along with the Melbourne Cup High Tea.
There was much merriment throughout the Christmas lunch as everyone joined in the songs and music provided by one of our favourite entertainers, the Ukalalians, who had everyone joining in with their toe-tapping tunes.
Meals on Wheels provided a sumptuous lunch and the room was transformed into a Christmas wonderland by Activities Coordinator Krista Flick and the wonderful MDRC team who did a great job coordinating the event.
Next month’s activities include a visit to Flaxton Gardens, Ginger Flower and Food Festival, and checking out Op Shops. MDRC will also host a BBQ to celebrate Australia Day so if you know anyone who would be interested call 5475 8200 for more information or to make a booking. Monthly activities are also posted on our website.
Merry Christmas from the team at MDRC.
