After more than four years at Suncare, Chief Operations Manager Richard Johnson bid farewell this month. As the former Regional Director of Uniting Care in Central Queensland, Richard always dreamed of moving to the Sunshine Coast, so when a position was advertised in Birtinya, Richard’s skills and experience made him the ideal candidate. During his time with Suncare, Richard had many proud moments - the most memorable being a conversation he overheard about an experience with a Support Worker. The conversation went on to say how exceptional the Suncare worker had been, a quality of care that Suncare Support Workers pride themselves on. While living on the Sunshine Coast, Richard also made the most of the lifestyle, spending time enjoying nature and surfing. But it was one of his more unusual hobbies that many of his colleagues will miss. Richard was an avid bee-keeper and spent much time extracting honey from his hives and donating many jars to others. Richard is now having a change of focus and looking forward to the new pathways of the future.
Suncare wishes him all the best in his endeavours.
