Carers express themselves through art

10 April 2018

Carers recently attended two Expressive Art Therapy Sessions with art therapist and counsellor Lisa Moore at North Shore Community Centre. Art therapy is a unique balance between art and therapy; using different art materials to express and work through issues, problems and concerns.
The combination of the creative process and psychotherapy to explore feelings and emotional conflicts makes it an effective mental health intervention.
Art therapy encourages people to resolve conflicts, develop interpersonal skills, manage behaviour, reduce stress, increase self-esteem, achieve insight and cope with change.
