Social SupportAre you lonely? Would you like a friendly visitor to drop in for a cup of tea?
Sometimes you might like to go for a walk but just need a helping hand and a bit of company!
Social Support is provided to clients by volunteers and staff who are trained to assist within the home environment or to access community services, to meet the needs of the client so as to participate in the community.
Volunteers may be friendly visitors who just pop in for a chat and a cuppa, or they might assist with letter writing, shopping, bill paying and banking on a one to one basis. Small groups are taken on outings such as picnics, lunch, coffee, to the movies or just for a drive. Social support provides activities which help to address social isolation and loneliness in the home and help people to access the community.
If you are a frail older person, a person with a disability or a Carer, we would love to hear from you. |
