Maroochydore Day Respite Centre
The Maroochydore Day Respite Centre is located in George Street Maroochydore and is responsible for the service of the following Home and Community Care(HACC) funded programs:
- Day Respite Program
- Social Support Program
- Community Alternative Transport
- Personal Care
- Allied Health Services (Occupational Therapy, Podiatry, Massage, Bowan Therapy)
Who is eligible for HACC services?
Eligibility for Home and Community Care services is based on functional ability:
- A person has difficulty performing the tasks of daily living and needs assistance or supervision due to ongoing moderate, severe or profound functional disability; and without this assistance would be at risk of inappropriate or premature admission to long-term residential care.
- Tasks of daily living include dressing, preparing meals, house cleaning and maintenance and using public transport.
Home and Community Care clients must be living in the community, the program does not provide services for:
- Residents of aged care homes
- Recipients of disability program accommodation support services when the service provider is receiving government funding for that purpose
- Residents of retirement villages or special accommodation/ group homes when a resident’s contract includes these services.
- Eligibility is limited for recipients of EACH & CAPS packages.
Day Respite
Centre Based Day Care provides structured group activities designed to develop, maintain or support the capacity for independent living and social interaction. The program includes centre based and group excursions/activities conducted by centre based staff. Staff provide assistance to help you attend and participate in the group activities.
The Day Respite Centre also has a program specifically for younger disabled (People 65years and under).
Included in the day is a meal and light refreshments.
There are fees associated with attending, these fees vary according to the activity.
