Maroochydore Day Respite Centre
Day Respite is available to older people, those with disabilities and their carers,
to assist in maintaining or improving the quality of life for all.
Who is eligible for the Services;
The Services are available to frail aged people and people with a disability living in the community. The opportunity for these people to attend the centre provides the Carer relief from their caring responsibilities so as to maintain their own interests and activities.
People may be referred to our centre by:
• A Community Health Nurse
• Other Service Providers such as Spiritus
• Doctor/ GP
• Member of the Aged Care Assessment Team
• Family member or friends.

Open - 8.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday.
The Centre services the Maroochydore, Bli Bli (south of the bridge), Alexandra Headland, Mooloolaba, Buderim, Diddillibah, and Kiels Mountain areas across the Sunshine Coast.
Services Available at the Centre
While at the Day Respite Centre, the following services are available:

• Hairdressing
• Massage
• Podiatry
• Bowen Therapy
• Recreational Programs
Activities Program
A varied program is run at the Centre to cater to our valued clients differing needs and interests.
This includes:
• art, crafts and games
• discussion and socializing
• outings and picnics
• bingo and other table games
• musical events and entertainment
• exercises and indoor bowls
• newsletter
Transport to and from the Centre and for Outings
Two buses are available to provide transport for our clients to attend the centre and for outings.
Both buses are fitted with a hoist for those people in wheelchairs and those who have difficulty in negotiating steps on buses.
What does it cost
The cost to attend the Day Respite Centre is $12 per day, which includes transport, morning and afternoon tea, a hot 3 course lunch and activities.
An extra minimal charge may be incurred for excursions.
No client is refused respite due to financial constraints. Please discuss any difficulties with the Program Manager and be assured this will be private and confidential.

• A number of valued volunteers who bring a variety of skills, knowledge, abilities and interests to the Respite Centre and its services.
