    indig-art2 Suncare Community Services Inc. is a part of the Queensland Community Services Sector that stands for self-determination and an end to disadvantage for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We proactively seek to redress the inequities between the wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and other communities. We also work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and organizations to achieve justice and improved quality of life.     Are you a family member, friend or neighbor looking after someone who is  frail aged, has a disability, a chronic health condition, a mental illness or requires palliative care?

    • We can assist you to have a break or support you in your caring role based on your personal needs.
    • Home visits can be arranged with our Indigenous support worker to have a yarn about how best we can assist you.
    • We can be contacted 24 hours a day seven days a week in case of an emergency on freecall number  1800 059059
    • We can all so help with information about  other support services in your local community on free call number 1800 052222

    Our Young carers Programme

    This is for young people who are having trouble coping with school because they are helping to look after a family member who is frail, aged or has a disability  or life threatening illness.

    Working Carers

    Helps Carers who  working or want to get back into the work force and are looking after an elder.

    Painting Shed

    Based in Nambour at the moment.

    This is a yarning circle for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders living with a disability or caring for someone who has.
    The group of artist meet each week  to share stories  and support each other via yarning and art.
    Light lunch or sausage sizzle is provided to participating artist.
