Community Alternative Transport ServiceThe Maroochydore Community Alternative Transport Service is designed to assist frail elderly people and people with disabilities within our community to shop, enjoy social outings, attend medical and other appointments and participate in community life.
A prospective client will be assessed prior to or at the time of commencing a service under the ONI (Ongoing Needs Identification Tool). If you already receive a service from another HACC Agency and have been assessed on the ONI, permission will be requested so as to receive the information thus saving you the inconvenience of another assessment. Services AvailableThe Maroochydore Community Alternative Transport Service is designed to assist frail elderly people and people with disabilities within our community to shop, enjoy social outings, attend medical and other appointments and participate in community life.
Shopper BusThe bus runs each day Monday to Thursday to the Sunshine Plaza. This is a door to door service collecting the person from their home and transporting them to the Plaza and then home again. Assistance will be provided with shopping parcels. The bus is fitted with a hoist for two wheelchairs, and 15 other seats. Costs - $5 return per person, or, $8 per couple

Medical and Other Transport NeedsTelephone the Coordinator on (07) 5443 2644 and every effort will be made to assist with your transport needs such as medical, business, social and recereational transport. This is dependant on availability of vehicles and volunteer drivers.

Community Alternative Transport VolunteersOur valuable Volunteers generously provide their time and driving expertise to clients who are attending appointments, accessing community activities such as banking, library, attend community events and participate in the community.
