    Since establishment, Suncare Community Services Inc. management have provided services to the community through the dedicated, caring and professional commitment of staff and volunteers of the network of Commonwealth Carer Respite & Carelink Centres including four Carebus mobile information units, Direct Respite Services, Meals on Wheels, Maroochydore Day Respite Centre, Community Alternative Transport Service.

    The organisation consists of a growing number of dedicated and greatly valued staff and volunteers working within its diverse range of community services and as such has been able to respond successfully to the exceptional population growth within the Brisbane North, Sunshine Coast, Central Queensland and Wide Bay regions.

    Programmer, Systems Developer & Analyst, for over 20yrs. Since then has taught the profession at TAFE Qld for 10yrs. Retired in 2002 and currently is a volunteer for Maroochy Day Respite and Meals on Wheels and is the president of Suncare Community Services Inc. Committee.

    Bachelor of Education. Bachelor of Legal Studies. 28 years with Commonwealth Public Service including 16 years as a member of the Senior Executive Service. Involved in corporate and legal services for Dept of Veterans Affairs, the Australian Customs Services and Quarantine & Inspection Service. Aspiration for Suncare:  Maintain and grow its care and support services for the disabled, the frail, the aged and their carers. Be recognised by Government and the Community as an effective and cost efficient provider of services.

    Bachelor of Justice, Postgraduate Degree in Law, Certificate IV Property Development, Certificate IV in Workplace Training, Certificate III in Financial Services, TAFE Certificate in AUSLAN (Sign Language), Justice of the Peace (Qualified). 

    With a background in Corporations and Body Corporate Law, in 1989 Olwyn founded a legal business specialising in proprietary and public companies, discretionary, unit and superannuation trusts.

    Having been a guest lecturer to Postgraduate Law students at Bond University, Olwyn then became a Senior Manager for Stewart Silver King and Burns personally managing a portfolio of some 33 developments totalling in excess of seven hundred and fifty million dollars from Brisbane to Hamilton Island.

    She is presently employed as Community Relations Manager for Guide Dogs Queensland and has been the Secretary for Suncare Community Services Inc. since 2004.

    Her mantra? One third of your life learning, a third earning, a third returning.

    25 years with Lifeline Brisbane & Lifeline Community Care as a Manager of the Financial Services. Assists Suncare Financial Services Staff to reach their potential. Also helps Financial Services Staff to provide financial and management reports, assist in decision making.

    Involved in the establishment of Meals on Wheels and had continuous voluntary service with Suncare for the past 35 years. Also actively involved within our community serving many organisations including School P&C Associations, Lions Red Cross and Senior Citizens.

    Bachelor of Engineering (Elec) U of Q and  Dip Computer Science U of QHave developed a number of teams in Telstra, Coopers & Lybrand & Comalco over an extensive period of time delivering a range of technology related services. Took leadership of significant projects in Indonesia, China, London and across Australia delivering services that included strategic planning, quality assurance, management review, project management, requirements analysis, tender development, tender evaluation and organisational development. His aspirations for Suncare is ‘to plan an appropriate set of services that Suncare should deliver to older Queenslanders and then to do that well.’

    At 23 started her own manufacturing business designing ladies wear for the 16-22 range. Spent 8 yrs sailing the world before settling in Sydney, Australia. Started a marine canvas company there till she really did retire and came to Qld. Has been a Committee member for 5.5 years.

    Justice of the Peace (qualified).Has worked in the Commonwealth bank for 28 years and jointly owned Cotton Tree Post Office for 14 years. Worked in various managerial, lending and accounting roles in numerous parts of Queensland. A member and current Treasurer of Maroochydore Lions Club and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels Maroochydore.

    Russell Cooper

     Premier of Queensland in 1989 and opposition leader 1990 – 1992. State member for the seat of Roma 1983 – 1991 and Crows Nest 1992 – 2001. During this time responsibilities have included Minister for Police, Emergency Services, Corrective Services, Administrative Services and Racing. Also a Councillor on the Bendemere shire based at Yuleba Qld.

    Brian Meigh 

     BSc, MBA, FCII, FIOD, FIIIB, FBCS.  Retired – and enjoying life in Queensland, whilst trying to put something back into the Community.  Involved in Financial Services with Banks, Building Societies and Insurance companies for 40 years, both at Director level and in full scale Consultancy.  Has helped to create and grow 17 companies within the EEC, Australia and the USA.  Biggest achievement to date: 42 plus years of sustained marriage, plus two great kids of whom we are immensely proud!  Aspriations for Suncare:  To help Suncare mature into the jewel in the crown.
